Dennis Eagle

The context
When UK-based specialist vehicle manufacturer, Dennis Eagle, built its new service centre in Leeds, effective project design and management were high on their fit out and on-site priority list. Owned by Europe’s largest refuse vehicle manufacturer, the Terberg RosRoca Group, Dennis Eagle’s large premises at Gildersome Spur demanded a supplier that could offer high quality design, supply and installation for everything from the mains power, sub mains, fire and emergency lighting to heating, ventilation, data, CCTV and access control.

The GRW Electrical team was delighted to be appointed as the main contractor for all on-site requirements, including site planning, design, implementation, health and safety and full project control of this prestigious new West Yorkshire site.

Key challenges
The site was extensive, incorporating a state-of-the-art workshop with heavy mechanical equipment, a parts warehouse, offices, a training and conference room and a reception area. With a complex brief, GRW worked in close collaboration with Dennis Eagle to ensure they understood the client’s exact needs and preferences.

Power requirements for the whole site had to be measured with energy cost reduction and full load analysis for both existing and new supplies. Known for its innovation in green technologies, Dennis Eagle was also keen to minimise its environmental impact and an up-to-date, efficient site is a vital element in demonstrating a building’s green credentials.

An all-round top job!
GRW was proud to hand over the new service centre to Dennis Eagle on time, on budget and in complete fulfilment of the original plan. Dennis Eagle now has fine new premises that not only improve its offer to customers but also save energy and costs through intelligent and energy efficient design. For example, the controls for the site’s gas, heating and ventilation were all optimised for maximum efficiency.

When Dennis Eagle Directors officially opened the site on 22nd March 2018, they presented GRW with an award as a token of their thanks for a job well done!

Service Centre Manager, Gary MacLauchlan<, reflected, “GRW clearly demonstrated a full understanding of the on-site requirements, from site design and planning to integrating all the other elements. It was a pleasure working with GRW and I would endorse the company to any new client.
